In a world where Halloween takes over every year with its costumes, decorations and symbols, it’s not always easy to talk about this subject with children without falling into controversy or fear.
Yet the Bible clearly warns against certain practices linked to magic, divination and anything connected to the world of darkness (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). It also reminds us that everything God created is good (Genesis 1:31) and that the light of Christ is stronger than the darkness.
This story offers a gentle, accessible and respectful way to open the conversation. Without judging or dramatising, it invites children and parents to reflect together on what we are really celebrating, on the difference between a simple game and symbols that carry a deeper meaning, and on choosing the path of light rather than the path of fear.
